Umami #Celebrates First Anniversary with Brand New #Menu Launch #Birmingham
Umami Indian Kitchen has had a successful year after opening its Harborne village restaurant in May 2015.
With its modern take on Indian dishes and warm hospitality, Umami is celebrating its first year anniversary with a brand new menu, which launches on 22nd June. Born in Mohali, India, talented Head Chef Mandeep Bajwa has been devoted to Indian cuisine for the last 27 years, beginning his career as a chef in India and moving to the UK in 2004 to continue his culinary journey.
After working for top hotel and restaurant chains, Chef Bajwa found Umami was a place where he could express himself as a chef, experimenting with flavours and pushing the boundaries of Indian cuisine. “Umami gave me an opportunity to express myself as a chef.” Chef Bajwa uses freshly ground spices and ingredients in all his food at Umami, serving a delicious range of meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes for everyone to enjoy.
Revealed on the 22nd June, Umami’s new menu will feature bold new dishes, exciting flavour combinations and plenty of tasty surprises. “The new menu will be featuring more fish, vegetarian and seasonal dishes” says General Manager Abdul Hoque, “Chef Bajwa has worked in the coastal regions of India where they are renown for their fish dishes. There will continue to be a variety of meat dishes and many of the customer’s favourites will still be on the menu, though some have been recreated and will have a different twist.
Umani will continue to source all ingredients locally and can’t wait to introduce their new dishes to their customers.”
